I have a copy of BG1, but it's not installed currently.
I can confirm that AC bonus (or, rather, roll penalty) works correctly in BG2, checking saving throws is more tricky, so not sure about that.
Some reading led me to believe that PfE in it also granted protection from charm. Some PnP thing, they took it out in BG2.

Black Blade of Disaster notes: "Save vs. death at +4 or be disintegrated on every hit is neat and you know it won't occur on enemies that have loot worth getting" - Explain how we know this?

 

Probably because they auto-save?
